Thai Elephant Day
Today, March 13, is the National Elephant Day in Thailand.
Some facts about these creatures:
1. Approx. 3,000 in the wild, but over 4,000 in captivity.
2. Elephants are the national symbol of Thailand.
3. National Elephants Day is March 13 to honor, support & pay respect to this wonderful animal which is so much apart of Thailand’s heritage and culture.
4. At CITES, Thailand pledged to ban the ivory trade.
